报告摘要:
Sustainability is a pervasive concept in our daily life, although its real and full application is still challenging. Sustainable chemical processes are being the subject of intensive research in line with new governmental guidelines. Numerous catalytic materials are being proposed every day in the literature as catalysts for greener chemical conversions, with surprising and exciting new reactivities being disclosed, together with proposed novel concepts. The photocatalytic-, thermocatalytic- or electrochemical valorization of biomasses is a key example in this respect. Investigation of water electrolysis, oxygen reduction reaction and CO2 electro reduction to chemicals and fuels are creating new opportunities for important breakthroughs. The talk aims at critically discuss the relevant features of new catalysts that bear the potential to truly make such breakthroughs, offering an analysis of most promising perspectives.
